Learning Goals
The Master’s Degree in Economics of Tourism: Monitoring and Evaluation provides a solid understanding of and ability to analyse how the tourism industry is structured and operates from an economic standpoint, particularly with regard to its economic, social and environmental impacts. The programme highlights the importance of monitoring and assessing tourism activity in order to improve competitiveness and sustainability.
The Monitoring Techniques Applied to Tourism specialisation will provide qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques and tools to correctly monitor, oversee and analyse tourism activity outcomes for suitable monitoring thereof.
The Evaluation Techniques Applied to Tourism specialisation will provide theoretical and qualitative tools for economic assessment, enabling comprehensive measurement and evaluation of economic and non-economic impacts from tourism projects, programmes or policies.
Graduate Profile
This master’s programme aims to train tourism professionals who focus on the economic analysis of tourism and its impacts. It will also train students to propose, develop and assess outcomes, as well as monitor and assess tourism projects, programmes and policies. It will provide the necessary knowledge to implement these skills in the public and private sector, as well as for related research and teaching activities at national and international organisations.
