Purposes and Objectives
The purpose of the Centre for Postgraduate Studies (CEP) at the UIB is to centralise and coordinate postgraduate training and its academic and administrative supervision in order to aid the UIB's ongoing adaptation to European Higher Education Directives.
Regulatory Agreement 11154 of 4th November de 2014 that regulates how the Centre for Postgraduate Studies operates sets out the following responsibilities and duties for the centre with regard to official university master's programmes and degrees:
- Selecting and coordinating the proposals for master's programmes, processing the selected proposals and taking charge of the academic management for all approved degrees
- Processing changes to ongoing programmes
- Providing information on submitted inter-departmental and inter-university collaboration agreements within Spain and overseas to undertake masters' programmes, or UIB participation in official postgraduate programmes at other institutions for subsequent processing
- Ensuring unified academic criteria for UIB master's programmes
- Promoting the production of master's plans that cover the appropriate strategic objectives of the UIB
- Managing the distribution of assigned spaces in accordance with teaching and research requirements at the UIB
- Coordinating the promotion and marketing of UIB master's programmes
- Coordinating and reviewing academic and/or professional collaboration agreements between the UIB and other organisations with regard to master's degrees
- The duties assigned to the centre by the pro-vice chancellor responsible for postgraduate areas.
