Students need to pass at least 60 credits as follows to be awarded the degree:

  • 25 credits from all mandatory subjects on both specialisations (codes: 10269, 10271, 10273, 10274, 10275, 10276, 10277, 11255)
  • 12 credits from all elective subjects on the relevant specialisation (2A or 2B):
    • Codes for specialisation 2A: 10280, 10289, 11256
    • Codes for specialisation 2B: 10284, 10285, 10290, 11257
  • At least 8 elective credits either from subjects common to both specialisations or subjects on the specialisation students are not taking
  • 9 credits from the Practicum (code: 11263)
  • 6 credits from the Master's Thesis (code: 11264).
Please note
  • Students taking specialisation 2A will undertake their placement at a research laboratory, mainly at the UIB or an affiliated centre
  • Students taking specialisation 2B will undertake their placement (at least four weeks) at a collaborating company or centre in Majorca or another Spanish region, in accordance with the company/centre they are assigned. Students must bear in mind travel may be required
  • Elective subject Metabolic Integration and Personalised Nutrition (11258) is particularly recommended for graduates in Human Nutrition, Medicine, Veterinary Science and similar areas
  • Elective subject Training for Work in Experimentation on Animals (11262) has limited places (between four and six per year)
  • Shared subjects are available in accordance with the collaboration agreement signed with the Master's Programme in Nutrition and Metabolism at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and the University of Barcelona (UB) (Full collaboration protocol document).
