Master's Degree in Global Health

The CAIB’s authorisation to introduce the master’s programme (Article 27.1 of RD 822/2021) is currently being processed.

Recommended Admission Profile

Preference will be given to applicants with the following undergraduate degrees in health and medical sciences: nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, chiropody, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, psychology, speech therapy, nutrition and dietetics.

Entry

Students interested in applying for a spot on the programme must submit their pre-registration application within the deadline stated on the website, and in accordance with the procedure for each academic year, as set by the UIB Centre for Postgraduate Studies (CEP).

The CEP will verify whether applicants fulfil the requirements for admission to the programme and, subsequently, submit the application to the programme coordinators to consider and decide on admission.

Finally, the CEP will publish the list of admitted students and provide the enrolment dates.

This procedure is governed by Regulatory Agreement of 23rd March 2022 that governs Entry and Admission to Official Master’s Programmes, published in the extraordinary issue of FOU no. 534 of 31st March 2022 (https://seu.uib.cat/fou/acord/14423/), implementing Article 18 of Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28th September that sets out the Organisation of Higher Education Programmes and the Quality Assurance Procedure.

Admission

The Master's Degree in Global Health has a total of 40 available spots for new students, split between the three partner universities as follows: University of Málaga (20 students), University of the Balearic Islands (10 students) and University of Almería (10 students).

Admission Requirements

Accreditation in the Programme's Languages of Instruction

Spanish is the language of instruction on the programme. In this sense, students whose first language is not Spanish must at least have an accredited level equivalent to B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

B2-level Spanish will be deemed accredited for candidates who fulfil any of the following conditions:

  1. Submitting certificates or diplomas equivalent to a B2 level, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, 2002)
  2. Having taken university courses in the stated language
  3. Having taken high school studies in the stated language

Admission Criteria

The master's coordination team will be in charge of the candidate admission procedure for the programme.

Admission will be exclusively based on candidates' academic record/transcript: 100%.

Records/transcripts from overseas universities will be weighted in accordance with their position in international rankings, in line with the current selection process guidelines for postgraduate programmes at each university.

 Deadline Period for Special Subjects
 Enrolment for the Master's Thesis and External Placements subjects shall also be available from 02/09/2025 to 16/10/2025.
