The double Master’s degree in Modern Languages and Literatures is taught by specialists from the UIB’s Department of Spanish, Modern and Classical Languages (http://dfemc.uib.cat/), in association with the English and American Studies Department at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) in Košice (Slovakia) (http://kaa.ff.upjs.sk/en/home):

  • 1 year degree: two semesters (Winter and Spring).
  • All classes held in the afternoon / early evening.
  • ECTS load: 60 ECTS credits.
  • All UIB courses have a 5 ECTS credit load.
  • MA thesis: 10 ECTS.

Students in the double MA programme are expected to:

  • Spend the winter semester at the UIB, taking a selection of courses offered in Spanish, Catalan and English.
  • Spend the spring semester at the UPJŠ, taking courses taught in English to be recognised as UIB elective credits.
  • Benefit from MA thesis co-supervision (by UIB and UPJŠ members of Faculty).
