External placements at educational centres in the Balearic Islands
The placement period consists of two phases: an observation phase (November 2022) and an educational intervention phase (March-May 2023).
The assignment of students to the centre where they will undertake their placement will be carried out by the master's degree study programme leadership, and it will take place before the start of the observation period of the centres that participate in the annual call to take on students on placements of the Regional Ministry of Education.
The placements for all specialities will be carried out in the morning, except for the Technology Services, Economics, and Technology and Computer Science specialities, which may have a limited number of places available in the afternoon, as they will be taught in vocational training cycles. For these three specialities the allocation procedure will be as follows: Once the call issued by the Regional Ministry of Education for schools in the Balearic Islands that wish to take on students from the Master's Degree in Teacher Training has been resolved, the number of places available for these three specialities will be determined, and the students who are allocated these places will be able to carry out their placements in the afternoon shift, in vocational training cycles. It will not be possible for these students to prioritise their geographical area of preference, since the allocation will be conditioned by the availability both of the educational centre and of the tutor coordinating the placement.
In the event that the number of places available in the afternoon is lower than the number of students enrolled in the aforementioned specialities, priority will be given in accordance with the following criteria:
- Having a current work contract in the morning, of at least 4 hours a day, from 8am to 3pm, which makes it difficult for the student to undertake his/her placement in the morning.
- The average mark in the academic record of the entrance qualification.
The places will be allocated until the number of places available in the educational centres of the Balearic Islands that take on students from the Master's Degree in Teacher Training by the Regional Ministry of Education is reached.
Please, bear in mind that there is NO GUARANTEE that all students enrolling for the Technology Services, Economics, and Technology and Computer Science specialities of the Master's Degree in Teacher Training will be able to undertake their placements in the afternoon.
