Clean Certificate of Sexual Offences

Students who wish to enrol on certain subjects shall be required to submit a clean certificate of sexual offences.

What is a clean certificate of sexual offences?

In accordance with what is set out in Organic Law 1/1996 on legal protection for minors, modified by Act 26/2015 and Act 45/2015 on volunteering, all professionals and volunteers whose work brings them in regular contact with minors must provide clean certificates from the Central Register of Sex Offenders.

The certificate demonstrates that they have not committed any sexual offences. More information about the certificate.

How can you provide it?

When formalising enrolment, students may authorise the UIB to obtain the clean certificate from the Sexual Offenders Register. In this way, students do not need to request or submit the certificate themselves. In order to authorise the query, the name of the student's father or mother as it is stated on their ID document must be provided.

Students who choose not to authorise the UIB to obtain the certificate undertake to submit it before the start of classes. In this sense,

  • Spanish students need to request the certificate online on the Ministry of Justice website
  • Students from overseas must request the certificate from their home countries. Where students are dual nationals, they must submit certificates issued by both countries.

Students may submit the certificate in an e-mail attachment, addressing the e-mail to the admin services for the corresponding degree programme:

When should you provide it?

The admin services for the corresponding degree programme must have the certificate before the start of classes.
