Recognition and declaration of equivalence to master's qualifications

Royal Decree 967/2014, of 21st November (BOE de 22/11/2014) sets out the rules regarding the conditions and procedures for:

  • The recognition of overseas higher education qualifications as equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish master's degrees that grant access to a regulated profession in Spain, and the possession of which is a necessary condition for access to it.
  • The equivalence of overseas higher education qualifications to official university qualifications in the branches of knowledge and specific fields listed in appendix II of the aforementioned Royal Decree and to master's level.

Pursuant to Royal Decree 967/2014, the procedure will be initiated by means of a request from the interested party, addressed to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
