The scope of application for certificates that accredit large family status extends across Spain, in accordance with article 5.2 of Act 40/2003.

The status must be valid on the first day of the academic year.

-Where the corresponding certificate does not state the number of children, the Family Record Book or any other document stating this information must be submitted.

The status must be valid on the first day of the academic year.

Original and photocopy of the legal sentence, the protection order in the applicant's favour or, in exception cases, the report issued by the Ministry of Finance that states the existence of proof that the applicant is a victim of gender-based violence and awaiting issuance of a protection order. Applicants may also submit accreditation from social services at the relevant public administration that accredits their status.

Children of victims must attach the family record book.

 * Concurrent Status Certificates

Families with concurrent large and single parent family status may not benefit from cumulative discounts/exemptions, except where regulations specifically allow this possibility.
Recognition of single parent family certificates from other autonomous regions

Single parent family certificates issued by other autonomous regions are recognised until they expire, wherever there is a reciprocal agreement in place. The certificates can then be renewed in the Autonomous Region of the Balearic Islands in accordance with the relevant regulations.
